Information about the Fix Worm:

Win32.Fix is a win32 based worm program. Any mail carries subject as "Internet problem year 2000" and a file attachment with name Fix2001.exe with the body of the mail will be in English and Spanish is infected with this worm. When the attachment is executed worm will be installed in the system, modifies the registry and copies itself to WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. Next time when windows starts user can see a message "Your Internet connection is already Y2K, you don't need to upgrade it" This worm patches WSOCK32.DLL to control email activities. When the Internet connection is established, worm will send a message with attachment to all email addresses which are in received and sent folders.

Win32.Fix first appeared in September 1999.
