NakedWife Worm

Information about the NakedWife Worm:

NakedWife is an email worm that is created using a VB Script. This worm will infect Windows systems.

The worm arrives with the subject:

Fw: Naked Wife

The body of the message reads:

> My wife never look like that! ;-)

Best Regards,
(Infected sender's name)

The infected email carries an attachment called NakedWife.exe. When the attachment is executed, it simulates the start of a flash movie and fools the user into believing that a video is being loaded. The worm deletes all the files under WINDOWS and SYSTEM directories, which have the following extensions- COM, DLL, INI, EXE, BMP and LOG. Windows will have to be re-installed, to get the computer working again.

The worm also emails itself to everyone in Microsoft Outlook address book.

The NakedWife first appeared in March 2001.
